APS –Drafter/Circuit Designer (contracted through EASI)

I work directly with the engineers, planning facility growth within the company and at the power substations. I use AutoCAD for drafting the circuit designs.

I have been working various temp jobs, while searching for full time work.

 

August 2007 to December 2013

Integra Telecom-Circuit Designer, Project Coordinator

I worked with both external and internal customers to find the best type service needed to meet their telecommunication needs and budget.

I used a variety of software systems (, ICC, M6, MSS, and IMA) to create the circuit designs used by the technicians to install MAC (move, add, change) orders, new POTS/DS0/DSL, T1, SIP T1, EOC, FOC and OC3 circuits.

As a contractor I worked on site, directly with the customers doing a variety of jobs, which included; pulling in and terminating Cat 5 wire, working on Nortel PBXs, Cisco VOIP switch, turning up VOIP Phone systems, working with Cisco routers to updating bits clocks, and provisioning fiber rings.

I worked directly with our external customers designing, wiring, provisioning, and turning up, new telecommunication circuits, transport facilities and 800 numbers. I opened and worked on trouble tickets using Remedy.  I did maintenance on DS0, T1/ISDN, DS3, OC3, ATM and Cisco VCO4K Switch, Cisco 7500 Series, DSX Wiring, IVR, Aspect ADC.

For our internal customers I did Project Management, TBS Software SME, Escalations, Vendor Management, house phone moves and changes and created Visio drawings.

June 1999 – May 2000

WTCI Cable- Lead Provisioning Technician

WTCI was a new start up. My duties included: Setting up their provisioning department, creating an order flow process, designing the CLRs and engineering packages, be used, set test and turn-up standards, install and build the data base in the TBS Order Creation and Engineering Software, and helping turn-up their Nortel OC 48 Rings, OC 192 BLSR, DWDM systems and Alcatel under ocean fiber muxes.

WTCI went under.

 

Oct 1996 – June 1999

TCG/ATT LOCAL- Communications Technician

I was one of two technicians TCG hired to turn-up their new central office and OC48 ring. I supervised the contractors with the installation of the co-lo cages and the equipment in the central office. With the exception of the DMS switch, I provisioned and turned all of the equipment in the co-lo cages and the central office. This equipment included, Nortel fiber muxes, power rectifiers and generators (ran the power leads to equipment), the Titian 5500 DACS, channel banks and Routers.

After the installation was completed, my duties were to order, install, test and turn-up circuits at DS3 level and above and install Nortel OC3’s, routers and channel banks at customer locations. I also did maintenance and upgrades on the equipment, and did circuit repair.

I left when WTCI offered me a much hirer salary.
